Carrie's interest in art came at a very early age. Before she was 10 years old she was already winning contests and trophies. It didn't matter to her that she was usually the youngest competitor. Carrie's father Paul, (himself an accomplished artist), always kept a critical eye on her work, always guiding and encouraging her to do better.
Because of the strong bond with her father, Carrie always strived to learn from him as he would push her to excel in her artwork. Her father would teach her to look for that "one minor detail" in her work that would make her drawings more than good...they would be true works of Art.
"My dad was my mentor, my art teacher, and the best father I could ever have asked for. He passed away in 2008, and even now when I draw or paint, I ask him for guidance and I know he's there with me while I work"
